ZOOM WORKSHOP WITH SAM PAONESSA - WATERWORKS

Online - February 18-20, 2022
WaterWorks - Water-tight techniques on painting water in various forms, this online workshop is best suited for experienced beginner to intermediate and advanced painters. The focus will be on painting water in three different ways, including a still water reflection, a small waterfall, and a winter scene with moving water. Three images will be provided by the instructor, however, students may use their own reference material if preferred. Sam will be doing his demos in acrylic, however, the workshop is open to artists working in oil and even watercolor.
We will discuss the importance of underpainting, what happens to values and chroma in water, layering textures, and rendering movement using various tools and techniques. A demo will be done each day which will be recorded so students can watch later up to a 2-week period. Constructive criticism, encouragement and puns are also included.
This workshop will be recorded, and it will be available to all students for two weeks after the workshop is over.
The workshop will run from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm, Mountain Time, and we will be meeting on Zoom.

ZOOM WORKSHOP WITH KAREN KNUTSON - PAINTING LIKE GUSTAV KLIMTJune 4-6, 2022 at 9:00 - 10:00 to 4:00 Central Time, by Zoom, with a one-hour lunch break.
Painting Like Gustav Klimt is a workshop for the experienced acrylic painter as well as the beginner! Squirting fluid acrylics onto a surface and spreading it with a credit card produces beautiful streaks of color! Students will learn color combination that are no fail. Subjects are the student's choice, and Karen will be demonstrating contemporary figures and animals. Students will get to doddle to our heart's content in the workshop. Good design will be emphasized and lots of tricks to make the detail work easier. We will have no trouble with the drawing, etc, because Karen has some easy painting and drawing tips, including the very popular "Wire Drawing"! this is done using permanent markers and the finished drawing looks like a wire sculpture. This is Karen's most popular technique and will add the finishing touches to our paintings. As a bonus, we will also be working with several different types of metallic special effects.
